This account assistant will provide financial and accounting support to WorldFish' Financial Management team in the following areas:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Accountant (Treasury) in day-to-day operations such as bank liaison, fund transfers to Regional Offices and recording in-coming funds from donors and other Centers.
- Perform bank reconciliation on a monthly basis for assigned accounts to ensure that ERP system (Agresso Business World (ABW)) and bank balances are completely accounted for. Ensure that all banking and finance transactions are duly updated in the ABW.
- Work with Accounts Payable function to ensure that there is adequate fund for payments to vendors, service providers, partners and collaborators via telegraphic transfers or checks.
- Reconcile and analyze payment on behalf of other party's accounts monthly, and inform respective departments on corrective actions.
- Assist the Senior Accountant (Treasury) to process bank account signatory resolutions and update of signatory information.
- Assist the Senior Accountant (Treasury) to prepare cash flow statements as well as other management reports.
- At least a Diploma in Accounting or equivalent (professional accountancy qualification)
- At least 2-3 years relevant working experience, preferably a computerized accounting environment
- Proficient in English language, both in written and verbal
- Meticulous, has good organizational and analytical skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Computer literate, a good team player and has good inter-personal skills
- Experience in basic book-keeping, treasury operations and data migration is definitely an advantage
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience in using ERP software system would be an advantage
