Assignment:
Under the general supervision of the Chief, Capacity Building and Training Section, International Data Centre Division, to:
- Contribute to the management of needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the training provided to the State Signatories, in particular for station operators;
- Contribute to the development of an appropriate mechanism to measure the impact of the training provided in particular with regard to the use of International Monitoring System (IMS) data and International Data Centre (IDC) products by National Data Centres (NDCs) as well as for the operation and maintenance of IMS Stations;
- Review and management of training materials and its availability to the States Signatories, in particular those covering new software tools for NDCs and those related to eLearning, contribute to the development of new modules and the translation of existing ones and develop a plan for improved usage of the eLearning tools;
- Review and management of the registration process for training, workshops, and conferences, in particular with the online registration platform;
- Contribute to the participant services provided to those registering to training events, workshops and conferences;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Nuclear Sciences, Geophysics or another science relevant to nuclear explosion monitoring. In the absence of an advanced degree, a first level university degree in combination with two additional years qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree;
- At least 10 years of relevant experience at the international level;
- In-depth knowledge of, and experience in classroom training and eLearning on access and use of IMS data and IDC products;
- In-depth knowledge of, and experience in capacity building and technical assistance to CTBT State Signatories;
- Experience in nuclear or seismo-acoustic data analysis;
- Experience in technical workshop organistation;
- Management and organizational skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Working knowledge of other official languages of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission is an asset.
