Duties and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Chief, Policy Making Organ Secretariat Support (PMOS) Section, Legal and External Relations Division:
- Act as the focal point for the implementation of elements of the 'virtual paper†project of the Section, aimed at enhancing access to information in electronic form and reducing the number of hard copy documents produced and distributed, in cooperation with relevant technical Divisions as appropriate;
- Act as the focal point for a project to assess the feasibility of an electronic document and presentation approval process, in cooperation with relevant technical Divisions as appropriate;
- Complete the PMOS Section's project to digitize audio tapes of proceedings of sessions of the Commission and its subsidiary bodies;
- Provide assistance in managing the implementation of the new Experts Communication System, including the clean-up and preparation of archived videos;
- Act as back up as, required, to the Conference Technician in providing technical support for meetings of the Commission and its subsidiary bodies, including assistance with the set up, operation and dismantling of electronic equipment as well as video streaming, and in providing other first-level conference and meeting-related technical support.
Qualifications:
- Completed secondary education;
- Several years of relevant practical work experience at the national and/or international level in the area of information technology, in particular with streaming video and troubleshooting on network, hardware and software issues. Some experience in an international organization would be an asset;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language are essential; Working knowledge of one of the other official languages of the Commission as well as German would be an asset.

Remuneration/Contract:
Depending on qualifications and experience, indicative tax-free annual net base salary of Euro 35,512. The salary offered is subject to deductions of contributions to the CTBTO Provident Fund and Health Insurance Scheme or their approved equivalents. Short Term Appointments are not eligible for the employer's contribution to the Provident Fund or approved equivalent. Additional benefits include, when applicable, dependency allowance and thirty working days annual leave per year.
Short Term Appointments shall initially be made under a fixed-term contract for a period not to exceed three years, subject to the successful completion of the probation period set forth in the Letter of Appointment and annual review of performance and availability of funds.The successful candidate for this position shall be employed under local recruitment terms.More Info and Application
