Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the Programme Manager of the Yemen Stabilization Initiative (YSI), the Reporting Officer (RO) will provide technical programmatic support to the reporting requirements within the Yemen Stabilization Initiative.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
  1. Obtain a full understanding of Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) programming and the YSI programme.
  2. Become familiar with the Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) Activity Database and other OTI proprietary tools, including OTI Anywhere.
  3. Write weekly and quarterly reports based on active dialogue with YSI Field Teams, the various Sana'a-based units, including Field Coordination, Grants and Monitoring and Evaluation, the Programme Manager and the donor.
  4. Use information from the Activity Database and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) reports to compile quick results reporting on programme status and impact, including success stories, press releases, regular reports, and ad hoc reports.
  5. Support the M&E team with the preparation and/or finalization of cluster evaluation reports.
  6. Report on programme status, impact and response to specific issues to a variety of audiences and through various formats.
  7. Prepare transversal analysis and snap-shot documents as needed.
  8. Analyze and report on programming within the overall and governorate-specific YSI Strategy.
  9. Provide recommendations to the Programme Manager, based on rolling analysis of and reporting on programming, options aimed at achieving maximum strategic programme responsiveness and accountability to beneficiaries.
  10. Review the quality of all YSI reporting.
  11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience
a) completed advanced university degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Social Sciences such as Law, International Relations, Governance, Development or a related field;
  • two years of relevant professional experience (or four years for those with first level university degree) in the field of migration, community development and media;
  • experience working within the Middle East an asset;
  • experience living or working in a developing or transitioning country an asset;
  • thorough knowledge of USAID/OTI programming, specifically in terms of pace and methodology;
  • familiarity with OTI reporting needs and the OTI Activity Database preferred.
  • Languages Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic an advantage.
