Background
UNDP in Ukraine is looking for a Partnership Development Officer to support the organization in developing and strengthening strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of UNDP through partnership development, communications and outreach. The Partnership Development Officer will work to strengthen UNDP Country Office to serve as a neutral platform for integrating development efforts of various partners including national and local authorities, civil society, donors, regional development banks, as well as the private sector.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Key Functions:
  • Assist the DCD in strategic advocacy and partnership development;
  • Support the CO management in mobilization of resources incl. from private sector and non-traditional donors;
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing;
  • Strategic communication and outreach.
1. Assist the DCD in strategic advocacy and partnership development:
  • Identify potential national and international partners in the areas of UNDP work in Ukraine;
  • Support the development of corporate strategies and approaches tailored to specific partners;
  • Advocate for UNDP with government counterparts, development partners and international financial institutions;
  • Provide strategic and policy recommendations with a view to positioning UNDP Ukraine as a strategic partner to national and local authorities, civil society, development partners, regional development banks, as well as the private sector;
  • Broker partnerships between UNDP and national and local authorities, civil society, development partners, regional development banks, as well as the private sector;
  • Coordinate and provide on-going support to the partnerships projects of UNDP Ukraine;
2. Support the CO management in mobilization of resources including from private sector and non-traditional donors:
  • Based on the analysis of the partnership landscape prepare tailored strategies and approaches for resource mobilization activities of UNDP Ukraine;
  • Provide support to the programme managers to implement the programme areas resource-mobilization strategies;
  • Prepare programme concept notes for partnership initiatives of UNDP Ukraine with development partners, private sector, Government, foundations, etc.
3. Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing:
  • Identification and formulation of lessons learned and recommendations to be integrated into broader CO knowledge management efforts;
  • Organization and conduct of trainings on partnerships building in the Country Office.
4. Communication and Outreach:
  • Support the implementation of the UNDP Ukraine Communication Strategy;
  • Participate in the outreach activities for making UNDP Ukraine's work and expertise known to existing and potential partners
  • Communicate value added of partnering with UNDP Ukraine both with national and international partners;
  • Contribute to the corporate reporting on partnership development.

Required Skills and Experience
Education: Advanced University Degree in international development, economics, political or social sciences, or any development related field.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in development cooperation, including at the country-level;
Experience in brokering partnerships and cooperation for development with various institutions: Government, private sector, etc
Language Requirements: Excellent English and Ukrainian (both oral and written) required
