Job: Operations Assistant

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Review of radionuclide stations operational status and performance, including daily monitoring and first level troubleshooting;
  • Provide support for the Operations Centre duties, including troubleshoot incidents at International Monitoring System (IMS) stations in operations centre and take actions to restore data flow;
  • Sample dispatching and tracking for the QA/QC and Level 5 samples and communication with Radionuclides Laboratories;
  • Support the continued review and development of the currently used Operations Procedures, and maintain various computer programs in use of daily operations;
  • Support implementation of data surety in IMS network;
  • Perform other related Duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Completed secondary education; education beyond high school in the areas of science or engineering and/or related to radionuclide monitoring desirable;
  • Minimum five years relevant working experience in the field of radionuclide network monitoring;
  • Relevant computer skills (Perl, SQL, Microsoft Office), knowledge of IDC database schema (RN part);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Working knowledge of one of the other official languages of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission is an asset.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in gamma spectroscopy, HTML / Apache web server.

Remuneration/Contract:
Depending on qualifications and experience, indicative tax-free annual net base salary of Euro 41,082. The salary offered is subject to deductions of contributions to the CTBTO Provident Fund and Health Insurance Scheme or their approved equivalents. Short Term Appointments are not eligible for the employer's contribution to the Provident Fund or approved equivalent. Additional benefits include, when applicable, dependency allowance and thirty working days annual leave per year.
Short Term Appointments shall initially be made under a fixed-term contract for a period not to exceed three years, subject to the successful completion of the probation period set forth in the Letter of Appointment and annual review of performance and availability of funds.The successful candidate for this position shall be employed under local recruitment terms.
