The United Nations Development Programme is seeking applications from dynamic and highly motivated Myanmar nationals for the following vacancies with UNDP, Yangon, Myanmar.
Functional Title: Individual Consultant for Development of Map and Web Design
Type of Contract: IC
Duration: One month
Duty Station: Yangon with frequent travels to Project site: Nyaungshwe, Pindaya andKalaw Townships
A. Introduction
Inle Lake Conservation and Rehabilitation Project is being implemented with the aim to restorethe environmental stability and to improve the quality of life of local community in and aroundthe area of Inle Lake with the concerted efforts of the Ministry of Environmental Conservationand Forestry (MOECAF), UNDP and UNESCO and funded by Norwegian Government.
B. Project Strategy & Implementation ArrangementBased on the five-year plan of MOECAF for Inle Lake Stability and Conservation, the projectstrategy is set up with the consultation of different stakeholders including authorities concerned.The project focuses on Kalaw Chaung watershed area which is one of the four main subwatershed areas of the Inle Lake since the Kalaw Chaung is in serious and visible sedimentationrate and impact. The technical assessment on biophysical features and socioeconomic conditionsin the targeted project area has been carried out and based on the findings, particularly theproposed detailed project activities and village land use plan, the project is being implementedwith 12 Local Non-Governmental Organizations and Community Based Organizations in linewith Micro Capital Grant (MCG) model of UNDP after the first call for proposal for the project.
C. Scope of WorksTo be able to provide information on the detail activities of the project in the core, buffer andremote zones, the activities such as reporting, workshop and coordination meetings at village,regional and national level have been done. In addition, to provide information and achievementon projects extensively, development of website for the project under UNDP website has alsobeen recently done but the information and photos with specific location has to be expressed andneed to be uploaded in Google Map/ Google Earth. The separate map for project area which1shows the status of project activities in each village also needs to be developed to upload in theUNDP Myanmar Website.

G. Competencies
The individual consultants must be able to demonstrate the following facts.
- Experience with Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS),website development, map development;
- Previous experience working with the UN or other humanitarianagencies/organizations, preferably on documentation and mapping; and
- A good command of English and Computer Literate.
H. Terms of ReferencesUnder the overall guidance of the National Project Manager and in close consultation withproject team, the individual consultant will:
- Upload all the required photos, video clips and success stories in Google Map/ Google Earth;
- Create Project Area Map based on Google Earth/ Google Map and attached project activities photos and success stories of each project village so that the newly produced mapcan be mentioned in UNDP Myanmar Website;
- Develop the simple system for uploading the information to Google Earth/ Google Map; and
- Conduct other necessary assignments mentioned by National Project Manager with relevance to uploading required documents in Google Earth/ Google Map and UNDPMyanmar Website.
