Job: Logistics Assistant, The Logistics Centre

Purpose of the Position
The Logistics Centre in UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen is seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant at the GS-5 level (case no. P0025). UNICEF is expanding in the warehouse hub locations for both emergency support and standard operations. The requests for complex kit packing are continuously increasing which creates a need for closer monitoring and management of the process. Under the general supervision of the Chief, The Logistics Centre, to provide assistance to UNICEF's warehouse hub management and streamlining of the kit operation.
Key Expected Results
  • Ensure efficient planning and execution of the kit packing according to the kit master plan
  • Assist in the streamlining of kits in coordination with Procurement centres
  • Manage the master data for kits in VISION and WMS
  • Provide input to the weekly production plan
  • Report on kit production
  • Manage the packing materials and consumables for warehouse operations and the inventory hereof
  • Assist in the stock management of the UNICEF hubs including the monthly and yearly reporting
  • Assist with timely order processing from the hubs
  • Act as back-up for the warehouse supervisors
  • Perform any other duties assigned
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Completion of secondary education and supplemented by warehouse and/or production planning courses.
  • A minimum five years' experience in a similar position working in a warehouse and/or production environment.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & LANGUAGES:
  • Fluency in English. An additional UN official language will be an advantage.
  • Experience with SAP and other Warehouse management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package in particular Word, Excel and Power Point.
