Health Worker (9 positions) with the Research Group of Tuberculosis and Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases (Advertisement #421/13)
icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position ofHealth Worker (9 positions) with the Research Group of Tuberculosis and Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases. The appointment will be made on a contractual service agreement basis for 7 months, which may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Duty station – Dhaka
Salary – Tk.14,816/- (consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.
Job Profile
- Project Implementation: Jointly work to establish physician network and maintain effective liaison with them by repeated visits to ensure successful project implementation; jointly work with Field Research Assistant (s) at the time of interview and re-interview and referral of sick patients; collection of sputum samples from patient in hospital and carry in the laboratory; follow up patients and report field updates on monthly basis; maintain records and collect information to prepare reports for updating the project activities in order to execute activities in accordance with research protocol;
- Team Support: Maintain liaison among the team and other stakeholders in the assigned areas; inform patients about date of collection of reports or possible changes in dates as per the study protocol; share experience and learning within the team in order to improve the productivity of the team.
Requirements:
Education and Relevant Experience:
- HSC passed or equivalent;
- 3 years of experience in the relevant field, however, prior experience in dealing with the TB patients would be an added advantage.
Functional Competencies:
Knowledge of:
- Ethical Guidelines;
- Health research activities specially on tuberculosis;
- Procedure of collecting sputum samples from suspects.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Can foster partnerships;
- Able to communicate effectively;
- Able to execute for results;
- Able to adopt with continuous learning.
