Duties and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Head, Information Technology Infrastructure/ Global Communication Infrastructure Support, Network and Systems Support Section, International Monitoring Systems Division (IMS):
- Receive deliveries of hardware, assemble and test equipment, install as well as possible subsequent shipment to the destination required;
- Monitor the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system of the CTBTO Computer Centre on a daily basis, all daily activities relating to maintaining presence and process overview;
- Assist the Hardware Engineer in the work relating to co-ordination with Building Management Services (BMS) as well as relevant subcontractors;
- Daily monitoring of the cooling system at the PTS IT laboratory as well as the CTBTO Computer Centre.
- Assist the Hardware Engineer in the co-ordination and daily supervision of installation and maintenance works;
- Assist the Hardware Engineer in activities relating to cataloguing of hardware items and systems destined for write off and disposal and participate or supervise the work of BMS staff involved in those activities;
- Perform other routine daily activities in the absence of the Hardware Engineer whenever human presence of staff at the CTBTO Computer Centre is required;
- Assist in the daily maintenance activities of the Hardware Engineer relating to work and co-ordination of visits of contractors;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Relevant secondary school education in computer technology or equivalent qualifications obtained at substantial specialized courses or studies;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in working with Information Technology hardware (server and networking infrastructure, network cabling and power infrastructure);
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.

Remuneration/Contract:
Depending on qualifications and experience, indicative tax-free annual net base salary of Euro 41,082. The salary offered is subject to deductions of contributions to the CTBTO Provident Fund and Health Insurance Scheme or their approved equivalents. Short Term Appointments are not eligible for the employer's contribution to the Provident Fund or approved equivalent. Additional benefits include, when applicable, dependency allowance and thirty working days annual leave per year.
Short Term Appointments shall initially be made under a fixed-term contract for a period not to exceed three years, subject to the successful completion of the probation period set forth in the Letter of Appointment and annual review of performance and availability of funds.The successful candidate for this position shall be employed under local recruitment terms.More Info and Application
