Job: Consultant - Drafting the Negotiations Manual for the Inspections Team

Assignment:
As part of the Integrated Field Exercise (IFE 14) preparations, the On-Site Inspection (OSI) Division is tasked to prepare the relevant documentation.
One of the most important elements of an OSI is the negotiations skills, to enable the Inspection Team members and particularly the Inspection Team leadership to negotiate mainly with the inspected state party.Duties:Under the supervision of the Chief, Training Section, OSI:
  • Finalize the development of the Manual on Negotiations for the Inspection Team;
  • Prepare it as a relevant document for use during the IFE14 and future related training courses;
  • Create it in accordance with the Documentation Quality Management System (QMS) requirements;
  • The document at its final version should include at least a following negotiation elements:
  • Negotiation strategy at Point-of-Entry (negotiation on logistics support, immunities and privileges, Base of Operation location, health and safety elements, security issues, method of work between Inspection Team and Inspected State Party Team, escorting procedure, interpretation…);
  • Negotiation strategy during the inspection (negotiation on logistics support, Health and Safety, field activities, restricted area, managed access…);
  • Negotiation strategy during the termination of inspection
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Advance University degree in geophysics, seismology, radio-nuclide techniques or other OSI-related techniques and/or a related field;
  • 15 years of experience with OSI methodology, training and exercises;
  • 15 years of relevant practical work experience in international level;
  • Participation at the OSI training and exercise activities is an asset;
  • Deep proven knowledge of negotiations theories and practices;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
Competencies:
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Very good skills in communicating with people from different backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment.
