Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to assist the senior business analyst/business development manager to understand business requirements and analyse supply chain business processes to support Supply Division (SD) strategies. This position will also provide additional support to the activities relevant to the master data management specifically Material Master and VISION User Roles as well as to the activities of the system development team with systems analysis and development.
Key Expected Results
- Conduct business process reviews, analysis of supply chain processes and recommend industry process improvements that align with SD strategies.
- Assist SD business centres to develop and present business cases in line with SD divisional procedures. In partnership with systems development unit, review and document the impact of proposed business initiatives on the information systems as well as human and IT resources.
- In coordination with data unit, ensure that the supply chain information is optimised in UNICEF ERP system resulting in simplified information architecture.
- Work with relevant subject matter experts and developers to prioritise, analyse and integrate modified business and work processes through the application systems. Coordinate the analysis and development activities using project management methodologies with ITSSD, SD programmers and external consultants.
- Ensure that the modified business process solutions are aligned with the organizational financial rules and regulations, divisional procedures and practices and financial reporting requirements.
- Provide technical, functional and operational support to Supply Division Business Centres and to country offices on an as needed basis.
- Support systems development unit in systems analysis, application development and to validate that the business process changes are accurately functioning in the system per the requirements.
- Maintain up to date documentation on Supply Division business and process architecture.
- Support the coordination of the master data management, Material Master in particular in the Business Process Unit
- Second level support to provide resolution to issues related to user roles in SAP - Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or centre Chief.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
- Academic qualifications: University degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in business analysis, system analysis,design, software development and integration.
- A minimum 2 years of experience in programming, configuration, implementation of standard ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution.
- Experience with the industry best practices in the ERP implementation of financial, human resources and supply chain processes.
- Experience in developing and documenting system level test cases relating to business processes for unit and integration testing.
- Knowledge of UN financial rules and regulations is desirable
- Experience with Supply Chain applications and SAP Workflow is a must. Any other requirements: Specific Technical Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of end to end supply chain processes (Procure to Pay) is a must
- Strong knowledge of SD, MM and CRM modules of the SAP system is essential.
- Excellent fundamentals in ABAP programming required. Understanding of JAVA concepts is desirable.
- Knowledge of E-Business concepts and ability to correlate with various E-Business technologies is desirable Common Technical Knowledge Required
- Use of Microsoft Office Suite. This includes MS Project and MS VISIO
- Project management methodologies
Language requirements:
- Fluency in English and working knowledge of another UN language
