Office of the Ombudsperson
The Office of the Ombudsperson (SRE/OMB) is an independent, confidential, neutral, and informal resource for handling employee grievances. The Ombudsperson works to resolve employment related problems through conciliation, mediation, and other dispute resolution processes. Types of issues handled include a wide range of workplace topics.
Other activities of the Office have to do with the prevention of recurring problems, the resolution of systemic problems producing employee complaints, and coordinating proactive approaches to these with Bank offices with corresponding functional responsibility
Responsibilities
The winter intern will work with the Ombudsperson on various projects and activities in support of the function and have the opportunity to learn about the profession and the role in the institution. Work may involve a range of projects including supporting the development of a new database for case management, developing updated promotional and informational materials and web site.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree student or equivalent in social sciences, alternative dispute resolution, workplace conflict resolution, communications, or labor law.
Experience with databases is a plus. Advanced undergraduate students with strong background in these fields will be considered.
Computer Skills:
MS Office Suite required.
Experience with database system desired.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Spanish
