Project Research Physician with the Research Group of Tuberculosis & Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases (Advertisement #347/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of  Project Research Physician with the Research Group of Tuberculosis & Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases. The appointment will be made on a contractual service agreement basis for 6 months, which may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty station – Dhaka

Salary – Tk.33,570/- (consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.

Job Profile

• Implementation of project: Establish physician network and maintain effective liaison with them to ensure successful project implementation; ensure treatment initiation and treatment adherence of all project patients; trouble shooting of distributed mobile phones and report field updates on monthly basis; perform any tasks assigned by the supervisor; maintaining records and assist in preparing reports for updating the project activities in order to execute activities in accordance with research protocol;

• Monitoring and Quality Control: Supervise screening activities by the health workers at private health care facilities; coordinate, review and supervise Physician Liaison Officers’ activities; observe certain percentage of screening activities and specimen collection passively in order to ensure continuous progress monitoring and constantly improvise the project implementation processes.  

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• MBBS degree recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) with completion of one year internship training, candidates having MPH will be given preference;
• 1 year experience in the relevant field.

Functional Competencies:

• Clinical skills in management of tuberculosis problems;
• Good Knowledge on clinical diagnosis and treatment, treatment compliance, patient care and satisfaction;
• Good knowledge on implementation research;
• Good knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation in implementation research;
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS-Office;
• Excellent communication skills both in English and Bangla are required.
