PURPOSE OF JOB :
Under the leadership of the Project Manager, Project Officer will carry out the national office. S/he will assist the project manager in catering technical and project management services to Diocesan offices to ensure that programs in national and diocesan offices are effective, efficient and delivering quality impacts. In order to obtain the desired results, the project officer will co-facilitate the staff capacity building at both national and diocesan offices together with the project manager. The post holder will also participate in the development of new programs with other relevant stakeholders including communities, diocesan offices, and partner organizations. As a member of the national office team, the Project officer will contribute to the emergency responses through the national ERST mechanism.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Assist the project manager in the proposal development of the respective thematic area
  • Participate in the national sectoral program activities planning
  • Assist the sectoral activity planning of diocesan offices as requested and required
  • Mentor the respective thematic team members of diocesan office in carrying out their job
  • Give technical overseeing services to diocesan project activities implementation
  • Cater one to one mentoring session with each national office project assistant
  • Assist the project manager in monitoring progress of sectoral activities both at diocesan and national levels
  • Prepare the financial expenditure according to the standard operative procedure (finance)
  • Participate in the program or project end evaluation
  • Assist the project manager in preparing the monthly and quarterly and bi-annual progress report
  • Coordinate and cooperate with national M&E officer to come up with national level activities progress data and information
  • Collect data on capacity needs of the program according to the activities defined
  • Co-facilitate the technical capacity building of national and diocesan staffs
  • Participate in the national capacity building strategic plan and its implementation
  • Once emergency occurs, depending on the severity, participate, coordinate and contribute to the ERST activation Page 1 of 1
  • Identify risk in their respective technical areas and update the situational data and information of the risk factors in different project areas
  • Assist the project manager in identifying the sectoral network at diocesan and national level
  • Together with the project manager and diocesan office concerned, discuss and decide the participation and implementation of broader sectoral activities at both national and diocesan levels.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENT
  • A bachelor's degree preferably in Development and Social field.
  • Minimum (3)years of experience in supervision of related field and evaluation activities preferably with an NGO
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social environments as a good team player
  • Project management experience
  • omputer literacy in Microsoft word, excel, power point and outlook express
  • Good communication in English, Myanmar and in both written and spoken is considered a bonus;
  • Program management experience in child protection project with experience
  • Proven experience of accessing donor funding and of grant management;
  • Ability to analyze and communicate effectively including skills in written and oral communications in English, as well as skills in conducting/ facilitating training.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child Right and Child Protection issues
  • Able to travel to Dioceses Office and related Project Area.
