The European Investment Fund is seeking to recruit for its Venture Capital Division at its headquarters inLuxembourg, a
Investment Manager
Appointment will be made on the basis of a fixed term contract of three (3) years.
Purpose:
The Investment Manager operates within the EU Venture Capital sector. S/he assists in the identification, appraisal, negotiation and monitoring of investments in Venture Capital funds and co-investments with Business Angels/Family Offices under the European Angels Fund throughout the European Union and the Pre-Accession Countries.
Operating network:
Working in small teams, s/he contributes to the development of the Venture Capital business plan and the monitoring of the growing portfolio. The job requires a constant interface with other parts of the EIF.
Responsibilities:
- Gather qualitative and quantitative information on developments in venture capital markets and companies relevant to EIF business, and on any aspects that may affect the EIF portfolio;
- Assist in the development of a network of high level/quality external contacts;
- Assist in the implementation of the business plan, participating as necessary in the research, identification of business opportunities, preparation of proposals, due diligence, structuring and negotiation of transactions, and follow-up of business portfolio;
- Represent EIF in Investors meetings and Advisory Boards.
Qualifications:
- University degree in finance, business administration or psychology, with post-graduate qualifications constituting a distinct advantage;
- At least (5) five years' professional experience of which (3) three in a similar position; Additional previous experience in a financial or corporate environment would be an advantage;
- Proven exposure in the Venture Capital/Private Equity industry;
- Solid Financial Analysis skills;
- Good IT skills (standard Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written). Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

- Very good interpersonal skills;
- Sense of initiative and problem-solving approach;
- Ability to organise his/her work, set priorities and meet deadlines;
