ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT Resource Mobilization Office (RMO) Development and Regional Activities (DRA) Department DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the Director of the Resource Mobilization Office (RMO), the incumbent will perform the following duties: (a) Oversee the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) ensuring that workplans are developed with technical teams and other stakeholders across WMO and that donors' expectations are fully understood and met through the lifetime of projects. This includes the generation of donor reports to meet the agreed schedule of reporting and associated risk management processes; Oversee the delivery of projects working alongside other areas of WMO, recipient countries National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), including technical programmes, budget and finance offices and regional offices as required; In coordination with the Project Management Board, develop and continuously improve the process of managing complex, multiyear capacity building projects across WMO, including effectively running the quarterly Project Management Board meetings and monitoring the outputs; Manage relationships with financing partners on funded projects ensuring timely reporting, keeping track of implem entation schedules and deadlines; Support WMO resource mobilization strategies to negotiate strategic partnerships with relevant institutions and organizations including the private sector, the United Nations system, bilateral and multilateral funding agencies and organizations, leading to successful applications for funding; Oversee development and ongoing operations of the Project Management Database; Carry out other relevant duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS Education Masters degree or equivalent in business administration, international relations, environmental or physical science, or a closely related field. Experience At least eight years of combined national and international progressively responsible experience in sustainable development, capacity development, or environmentrelated activities. Knowledge of the technical projects and activities of WMO and the United Nations system would be an advantage. Other requirements Excellent project management skills with proven experience in managing resources. Sense of responsibility, maturity of judgment, initiative and originality of ideas. Ability to conceptualize, develop and manage complex projects and activities. Excellent supervisory and organizational skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to draft and review technical and scientific documents. Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Languages Excellent knowledge of English or French and a good working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage. (Note: the working languages of the WMO Secretariat are English and French. The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
- The SecretaryGeneral may appoint a candidate at a grade below the advertised grade of the post, with the possibility of promotion to that grade within three years of appointment, subject to satisfactory appraisal of performance. SALARY, ALLOWANCES AND OTHER BENEFITS Annual net base salary on initial appointment is US$ 72,467 for staff members with dependants US$ 67,483 for staff members without dependants Annual post adjustment on initial salary is US$ 76,018 for staff members with dependants US$ 70,790 for staff members without dependants This post adjustment, which is subject to change without notice, is paid in addition to the net basic salary.
