Contract Duration
For initial appointments, the Court offers a two-year appointment with the possibility of extension (six month probationary period). A roster of suitable candidates may be established for this post as a result of this selection process for both fixed-term established and general temporary assistance posts. Entry on duty date is to be determined.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader of the investigation to which the incumbent will be deployed and under the coordination of the Head of the Investigative Strategies and Analysis Unit and the Investigation Coordinator, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Develops strategic analysis to assist in the planning and conducting of investigations and selection of cases;
- Addresses the areas of advanced analysis directly related to the alleged individual responsibility of the suspects;
- Collaborates with senior staff in the design, management and supervision of analytical projects;
- Contributes to the design and training on standard methods and formats;
- Participates actively in the collection and analysis of information, intelligence and evidence;
- Participates in the required field activities;
- Perform any other duties of analysis or collection as required.
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant university degree;
- Training in analysis techniques of crime, intelligence, social science or information management;
- At least seven years (5 years with advanced degree) working experience in analytical activities, with a special focus on complex, large-scale investigations;
- Sound knowledge of project management techniques;
International experience.
- Strong reasoning skill, including ability to understand complex scenarios of crime, handle simultaneously conflicting information and hypotheses, to identify source biases, and to develop sound logical inferences.
- Advanced computer skill, including ability to operate efficiently databases, searching engines and data mining, specialized analytical software, GIS, statistics and graphic applications;
- Ability to work effectively and constructively in teams;
- Excellent ability to administrate and handle complex and voluminous sets of records and facts;
- Planning and management capacity
- Ability to understand the requirements of international criminal law and procedural law, and to interact effectively with legal officers;
- Ability to work under stress conditions;
- Ability to work in a non-discriminatory manner, with respect for diversity; (ix) Ability to keep strict standards of confidentiality and security;
- Professional integrity.
KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES
Proficiency in one of the working languages English or French is required. Working knowledge of the other working language is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish), is an additional asset.
