Myanmar UNOPS Myanmar develops, supports and oversees a portfolio of programmes and projects in Myanmar which focus on post-disaster recovery, health programmes and food security. UNOPS Myanmar ensures that synergies between programmes and projects are effectively developed. UNOPS is also expanding its infrastructure and procurement services in Myanmar. The UNOPS Myanmar portfolio currently includes fund management of the multi-donor Three Millennium Development Goals Fund (3MDG) and the Livelihoods and Food Security Trust Fund (LIFT). The Myanmar Operations Centre (MMOC) has been established to support, develop and oversee the UNOPS portfolio of programmes and projects in Myanmar and to ensure that synergies between programmes and projects are effectively developed. The MMOC plays a critical role in ensuring quality services to UNOPS partners meeting stringent requirements of speed, efficiency and cost effectiveness. It is also responsible for liaison with Government counterparts, Donors, and UN Agencies The MMOC portfolio currently comprises several programmes and projects, including fund management of the multi-donor Three Diseases Fund, the Livelihoods and Food Security Trust Fund and the Joint Initiative on Maternal and Child Healthcare. In addition, UNOPS is the Principal Recipient of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria grants to Myanmar. In order to effectively and optimally utilize funds under UNOPS management, it is important that the MMOC establishes a strategy for the consolidation of critical administration and oversight functions. In this manner, UNOPS will be able to function in a cost-effective manner and build grounds for a stronger UNOPS presence in Myanmar. This position will be instrumental in strengthening the support function of MMOC.
Functional Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Support Services and the technical supervision of the Administrative Analyst, the Administrative Assistant (facility Management) shall manage some key administrative functions of MMOC. In performing the seactivities effectively, the Administrative Assistant works under the technical guidance of the Administrative Analyst performing the following duties:
  • Responsible for property maintenance including scheduled cleaning, building repairs and enhancements, landscaping, storage management and outsources canteenfacilities.
  • To prepare overall building checklist by daily basic and if needed do the repair to coordinate with Administrative Analyst and monitor the repair.
  • Submit requests for deferred maintenance projects, as well as meet with architects and engineers to review plans and projects.
  • Prepare work orders and/or coordinate and supervise the work of outside contractors and vendors such as carpentry,plumbing, heating, ventilating, electrical, air conditioning, auto mechanic,and inspect for completion of assignment.
  • Identifying maintenance needs for the building and coordinating repair work. In accordance with the maintenance plan, coordinating maintenance of the building generators and refueling.
  • Ensuring timely attendance to plumbing problems and availability of sufficient water supply in the buildingat all times
  • Ensuring adequate lighting in and around the compound.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the building through supervision of cleaners.
  • Ensuring timely collection of garbage from the premises. Interacting with maintenance service providers of different services.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and safe and secure storage of all officee quipment and property
  • Assessment and requisition of supply needs for office premises Receipt of goods and equipment for the office, inspection and report preparation Prepare and maintaining records and writing reports.
  • Determining the condition of existing buildings,identifying and analyzing defects, including proposals for repair.
  • Advising on the management and supervision of maintenance of buildings.
  • Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
  • Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
