General Background of Project
International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) is an international non – profit organization working in Myanmar since 2005. The Union Office in Myanmar is currently implementing the Integrated HIV Care program (IHC) in collaboration with National Tuberculosis Program, National AIDS Program, Department of Health and the public sector in particular the township health centers in provision of antiretroviral drugs to people living with HIV with or without tuberculosis. The Union has also launched PICTS program- 'A Program to Increase Catchment of TB Suspects' in seven townships of Mandalay since 2012 and will continue its effort to contribute to reduce the TB burden in Mandalay District in coming years.
Main objectives of the project are;
- To increase the demand for and access to TB diagnosis
- To increase the number of TB cases diagnosed in project area
- To increase community knowledge about TB To strengthen health system by upgrading the knowledge of BHS
- To strengthen diagnosis capacity by providing additional TB diagnosis tools to township health centers (Chanaye Tharzan Tsp., Maha Aungmyay Tsp., Chanmya Tharsi Tsp., Aungmyay Tharzan Tsp., Pyigyi Tagon Tsp., Patheingyi Tsp., Amarapura Tsp.)and TB OPD
General Mission of a TB Medical Coordinator is to implement active case finding activities [60% and 40% of his/her time for public health and clinical, respectively] in close collaboration with township TB teams of his or her assigned townships.
Duties and responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the TB unit Managers, the TB Medical Coordinator will have the following duties:
Supervision
- Oversee and supervise the project activities [SOP, GP, Pharmacy, and mapping, data recording and keeping]
Program Implementation
- Conduct mini mobile clinics and facilitate the mobile CXR activities of TSHCs
- Provide Clinical Management at the TS TB clinics on regular basis [emphasizing complicated cases and smear negative presumptive TB cases] and provide programmatic management of TBHIV clinic Organize and mobilize members of People Living with TB (PLWTB) network to take part in PICTS activities

Coordination
- Organize coordination or advocacy meetings/ events with all relevant stake holders [GP, pharmacy, Local NGOs]
- Organize regular monthly coordination meetings with TMOs and TB key persons of TSHCs and of TB corners at PPM hospitals
Logistics Management
- Is responsible for follow up for consumption and the stock management drugs and GXP cartridges
Data Recording and Keeping
- Is responsible for proper and systematic recording and keeping of Mobile CXR data and GXP data
Reporting
- Report month activities to TB unit Managers
Recruitment criteria
Required
Educational Qualification
- Medical degree (MBBS) working experience
- Work experience in the field of TB [public health] Work experience as a clinical doctor in the field of HIV/TB medicine
Other Qualifications
- Good command of English [4 skills]
- Communication Skill
- Computer Literacy [MS Office, especially Excel]
- Organization Skill
- Team spirit
Desired
- Experience in managing a team for minimum of one year
- Work experience in an International NGO for minimum of one year
