We, the Microsoft Connected Car team, have a strong track record and an extensive customer base in the automotive industry. In the past fifteen years, we’ve delivered various iterations of our Windows Embedded Automotive platform to the automotive suppliers of major auto brands such as Honda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, and McLaren. We also partnered directly with select automakers to create integrated Telematics products such as Fiat Blue&Me. Ford SYNC and Kia UVO. Featuring cutting-edge communications, travel information, entertainment, and accessory control via voice and touch interfaces, these products have been highly successful, increasing the automakers’ US sales by up to 35% and telematics adoption up to 70%.
We are looking for a superstar developer to help us deliver speech technology in the car. Speech is the safest, most convenient, and preferred way to interact with the car, and we want to ensure that we provide consumers with a superior speech experience.
As part of the Connected Car speech team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with speech technology at several levels, from core performance optimization to dialog implementation. You’ll be responsible for building a speech solution that seamlessly integrates with other I/O modalities, and incorporates both onboard and cloud speech technologies. The right candidate has experience with speech and/or language technologies, is passionate about user experience, and loves a good challenge.

Technology Experiences: You can work anywhere in a deep stack that includes hardware, firmware, and software running on a network of devices spanning cars, mobile devices, PCs, and the cloud.
Collaboration: You will work closely with Software Developers in Test, Hardware Engineers, PMs, and Designers in an agile environment with a focus on building an exceptional product that our customers and partners will love. You will champion quality practices and coach fellow engineers on engineering methodology, design, and implementation.

Qualifications include:
• 5+ years of experience in the software industry
• Completed multiple software development life cycles
• 5+ years programming of C++ or equivalent language (Java, C, or C#)
• Expert at object oriented design.
• Practitioner of the latest engineering methodologies. Unit testing, test driven development, agile development, etc.
• API development experience.
• Experience with Speech APIs like SAPI [plus]
• Experience with speech/audio technologies like VR, TTS Audio pipeline processing/DSP, AECNS , NLP[Plus]
• Embedded programming experience [plus]
• Experience with Automotive infotainment [plus]
