NCA has been working with partners in Myanmar since the mid 1990s.
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Program Coordinator and PMER adviser
Duty Station: Based in Yangon with travel to project areas in Myanmar and Thailand
Starting Date : As soon as possible
NCA is looking for a Program Coordinator and PMER adviser to join the NCA team in Yangon. The Program Coordinator for Livelihoods and Trade and PMER adviser will take care of the development and oversight of the Livelihoods and Trade program under the NCA Country Program for Myanmar, with responsibility for monitoring, reporting and documentation of the program and projects and for assisting partner organizations in strengthening capacities required for successful project cycle management. The Program Coordinator will further assist in strengthening the overall PMER capacity of NCA's country team in Myanmar. The position will be based in Yangon with travel to project areas in Myanmar and Thailand. S/he will report to the NCA Country Program manager and collaborate with other NCA staff in Myanmar and the region as required.
Main responsibilities:
  • Quality assurance of partners' project proposals, periodic and annual reports, evaluation reports and other documents;
  • Attend regular partner meetings and conduct regular field monitoring visits;
  • Review project evaluations and write evaluation summaries;
  • Undertake partner assessments and facilitate capacity development for partner organizations;
  • Assist partners for Results-based Programming, Monitoring & Evaluation;
  • Contribute to coordination between NCA and partners;
  • Take part in NCA's global Community of Practice on Livelihood and Trade;
  • Participate in relevant NCA meetings in Myanmar and the region and take part in strategic discussions within NCA;
  • Assist Country Program Manager in developing annual plans and reports and other documents;
  • Assist Country Program Manager in preparing proposals and report to donors, including working with partners on concept notes and proposals for fundraising and assist in assessing fundraising opportunities with donors in Myanmar;
  • Represent NCA in meeting and forums as agreed with Country Program Manager;
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Country Program Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Development, Project management or related fields;
  • 3 years or more of experience in livelihoods and trade programming;
  • Previous work experience in NGOs or international organization is an advantage;
Skills required:
  • Good knowledge and understanding of participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation tools, rights-based approaches and Do No Harm principles;
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with partners and government; Work effectively as a team member, as well as independently, with a high-level of self-motivation and the ability to set and meet goals;
  • Good language skills in Myanmar and English (both written and oral);
  • Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience with internet research and database management;
  • Understanding of gender mainstreaming and integration of peace building into programming would be an advantage
