We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services

We are seeking a senior candidate with strong systems architecture experience who can work with Microsoft’s various cloud services teams to develop concepts and designs for the next generation of cloud server infrastructure. 

An ideal candidate for this position will ensure the seamless transition of server systems from concept to contract manufacturing to end of production following and improving the Microsoft hardware processes. Applicant will have a proven track record of delivering product. The candidate will be able to multitask multiple designs and configurations. 

Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for interfacing to internal organizations and product team ensuring seamless operation and delivery of server product design and development into the Microsoft Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information and Services. 
• Execute change reviews and approve drawing specification release and ECO submittal. 
• Provide feedback on product mechanical design enhancements based on packaging design and packaging testing.
• Primary Interface with internal MSCIS and Team Center for server product, component, and subassembly drawings.
• Interface across multiple product development disciplines: Hardware, ID, Usability, EMC, Thermal, Acoustics, Tooling, Program Management, Reliability, Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement.
• Create evaluation and full scale prototype models and systems. 
• Maintain and communicate detailed mechanical project planning to successfully execute on delivery dates. 
• Prepare executive level presentations. Formulate and propose engineering and supply chain improvements.
• Assessment and recommendations of emerging technologies and technology roadmaps.
• Risk mitigation planning, analysis of test results and change recommendations.
• International and domestic travel required.

Qualification Summary:
• BS Mechanical Engineering or Product Design or related field, MS Preferred
• Strong product development experience (3+ years), in high-volume, system electronics.
• Program management experience.
• Demonstrated competencies supporting manufacturing of sheet metal and plastic piece part and assembly on consumer electronics products.
• Proficient 3D Cad Skills (Pro-Engineer WF 4.0 preferred)
• Ability to work independently and under pressure - must be a team player.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills.
