Premiere Urgence-Aide Médicale Internationale (PU - AMI) is a European INGO providing humanitarian assistance in 20 countries and running projects in 3 regions in Myanmar since 2001:
  • Dala and Seikkyi Khanaung Dho Townships (South Yangon District): Water and Sanitation,Reproductive Health, prevention and treatment of STI and HIV activities
  • Tanintharyi Township (Tanintharyi Region): Primary Health Care, Mother and Child Health,Reproductive Health, Water and Sanitation, Livelihood activities
  • Kayin Region (Kayin State): MCH, Public awareness for emergency

Job Purpose
The Health Educator will deliver Health Education messages and other Health Education activities during the mobile clinicsand/or in the Health Posts. He/She is under the responsibility of the Head of Base (HoB) and under the technicalsupervision of the Medical Officer (MO)
Activities1) Conduct Health Education sessions during the mobile clinics
  • Give health education sessions and advice to the patients through flipchart, theatre play, songs and other games
  • Animate group discussions with the villagers about health topics and check the well understanding of the villagers
  • Give proposition to improve the health education activities
  • Propose and organize tools to give Health Education session
  • Choose the Health Education topics according to the villages needs and other criteria (season, location,characteristics of the village...)
  • Evaluate regularly the impact of HE activities on the population and report to the MO2) Participate in the mobile clinic/HP opening and closing and help the midwives and nurses in the translation to the patients
  • Translate for the patients if it is needed
  • Check the well understanding of the patient (especially for the treatment)
  • Help to set up and close the mobile clinic/HP
  • Help the nurses and/or midwives in their activities if needed3) Participate to the HE survey
  • Help to implement the recommendation of the survey 4) Relation
  • Work under the supervision of the MO and the responsibility of the HoB
  • Work in close collaboration with the medical team (MO, midwife or nurse, etc), the community development teamand the others NGO on the field
  • Collaborate with the local authorities in the villages5) Reporting/ meeting and planning
  • Record, report and analyse the activities and the problems found during each trip/shift to the MO
  • Participate to the medical meeting and to any other meeting called by the supervisor
Requirements:
  • High school level or any diploma- Ability to live and work in remote area
  • Language: Myanmar and local language
  • Experience: Strong experience as health educator and good communication skills
  • Other: good knowledge of Taninthryi region context, ability to live in remote villages and ride/transported bymotorbike
  • Must have valid driving license
