CARANA is seeking a Financial Sector Support Unit Manager to manage the Agricultural Finance Unit for its newly-launched and USAID-funded Financing Agribusiness in Ghana Project, or FinGAP.
Duties: The position is responsible for developing partnerships with banks and non-bank financial institutions to catalyze financing for SMEs in agriculture and agro-allied industries in Northern Ghana.  The program includes a technical assistance facility for developing projects to a point where they are finance or investment ready, alongside a Financial Sector Support Unit that will administer grants to financial sector partners to buy down transaction costs and risks associated with agricultural finance, as well as provide training in best practices in agricultural finance.  The latter will be the responsibility of the Financial Sector Support Unit Manager and the job will involve a mix of conducting assessments, training, and developing strategic partnerships, along with basic planning, budgeting, staff supervision, activity management and monitoring and evaluation.
Qualifications:
-Master's Degree in business administration, international finance, agricultural economics or related field of study (or a B.A. and 12 years of similar experience)
-8 years or more of progressively responsible work experience in finance, preferably including direct experience in agricultural lending/investment
-5 years of experience working in Ghana
-Preference will be given to local Ghanaian
