We are currently inviting applications for the Communications and Campaigns Manager position for Myanmar country office. Please see the following detailed information. SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Communications and Campaigns Manager TEAM/PROGRAMME: GRADE: 2 CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people. ROLE PURPOSE: The Communications and Campaigns Manager (CCM) will lead the development and implementation of the Myanmar Country Office communications and multimedia strategy. Working collaboratively across departments and teams, the CCM will support the development and delivery of advocacy actions and campaigns, influencing key decision makers and duty bearers in Myanmar to ensure children access their rights. The CCM will also lead engagement with the national media, developing a network of contacts across the country that ensures Save the Children is the 'go to' organisation for information and opinion on issues affecting children in Myanmar. Dimensions: collaboration and cross departmental processes, influencing, representation, advocacy, campaigns, capacity building Staff directly reporting to this post: Graphics Officer KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Communications Lead the design and implementation of a communications and multimedia strategy, ensuring it is aligned with wider Save the Children strategy and Country Office priorities Identify communications and media opportunities and respond to ensure that Save the Children is a credible information source for the media, partners, donors, government, communities, children and Save the Children staff Develop high quality, user-friendly, child-centred communications and informational materials
for internal and external markets (children, SC Members, donors, GoM, MPs, programme partners) Advocacy and Campaigns Collaborate across departments to develop materials and support activities related to global and national advocacy campaigns Identify, cultivate and expand a network of key media and political allies, including government officials, donors, NGOs, academics and journalists and support representation and lobbying activities. Lead communications capacity building for Save the Children and partners organisation staff Team Management and leadership Line manages the graphics officer and ensures availability of appropriate professional development opportunities. Ensure the effective use of the Performance Management System including the establishment of clear, measureable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations Ensure the documentation of performance that is less than satisfactory, develop appropriate performance improvement/ work plans and take appropriate performance management actions in line with country programme/SCI policy.   • Degree in social sciences or other relevant field with 5 years experience in leading the development of communications and media strategies in a development context
  • Understanding of national and international development issues and demonstrated skills in networking and influencing
  • Knowledge of the policies, functions, structures and decision-making processes of key government and non government institutions in Myanmar
  • Experience of representation and engaging, managing and working effectively with a range of
stakeholders, networks and coalitions
  • Experience of developing and delivering high quality communications content
  • Ability to summarise and persuasively communicate complex information in written and verbal form to a variety of different audiences
  • Ability to lead and work effectively across teams and departments
  • Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Myanmar.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's aims, values and principles.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
