If this describes you, we have a great opportunity for you on the Enterprise Commerce IT (ECIT) Volume Licensing Solution Delivery team leading initiatives for the Enterprise Agreement and other volume licensing programs. The Enterprise Commerce IT Volume Licensing Solution Delivery team is responsible for driving solution design and execution excellence in support of the Microsoft Volume Licensing business. As an ECIT Senior Solution Manager, you are accountable for driving an IT solution end-to-end by working closely with business owners to develop business cases for high impact capabilities, along with user experience maps and scenarios, eliciting business requirements and translating them into clear requirements documents. You will engage IT teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support the platform and processes. In this role you have a unique opportunity to influence both business and technical decisions, be the primary liaison between the business and IT teams, and wear both business and IT hats.

As an ECIT Senior Solution Manager you will be responsible for various aspects of planning and delivery of IT solutions, including:

Planning
- Collaborate with business partners to find alternatives and solutions to business challenges, including seeking out existing solutions (either internal to MS or external, 3rd party solutions) that can be leveraged to meet business requirements. 
- Engage the business client early and effectively to build solid relationships and push IT value upstream as key business direction is being set.
- Understand business problems and develop materials to make the business case to solve those business problems.
- Ensure alignment of long-range business priorities and multi-year IT capabilities roadmap.

Delivery
- Communicate and build consensus with various groups (internal customers, vendors, external customers, senior technical/manager resources and executive management) regarding the vision and value proposition of the solution and options available to implement it. 
- Understand, articulate and document existing "as-is" systems & processes and define strategy for "to-be" business processes
- Elicit, develop, and document business requirements with various groups within Microsoft.
- Balance the customer’s requirements with various constraints (e.g., technology, schedule, budget and capacity) to ensure that the intended project benefits are realized. 
- Manage the delivery of requirements documents, use-case documentation, prototypical user experiences, test plans, and rollout communications.
- Create and maintain a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver solutions that meet the stakeholders’ priorities within budgetary and product requirements and executing on that plan, including assisting other team members to do likewise.
- Manage the program to budget and driving appropriate tradeoff decisions as necessary during the closing of the cone of uncertainty.

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

Professional Experiences
- Strong mix of both business experiences and skills, in order to establish credibility and to assert oneself as a trusted partner to the business client. 
- Confidence and proficiency in presenting to executive level audiences 
- Sound understanding of IT technology concepts. Must have a good understanding of business architecture, software architectures, MS products, development tools, etc. in order to establish oneself as a trusted partner to IT colleagues in engineering and in the services management organization.

Communication Skills
- Excellent written communication skills to build Vision Scope documents, BRDs, UAT plans, communication plans, training plans and presentations, combined with exceptional verbal communication skills to support the key bridging function between business and technology, played by Solution Managers. Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders and team members.
- Demonstrated expertise using written & verbal communication skills to distill technology projects into understandable and compelling executive level presentations

Core IT Skills
- Very strong program/project management skills deploying large-scale enterprise-scale IT solutions (planning, risk and issue management
- Familiarity with all aspects of and roles supporting the SDLC/ITLC, given the particularly “end to end” nature of Solution Management
- Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Strong data and rules analysis skills are critical

Academic Background
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study or equivalent experience in IT / software development and program/ project management is required. Master of Science in Computer Science or Information Science or an MBA will differentiate the successful candidate.
- 5+ years’ experience required in a functional or business consulting role in product management, driving business strategy, architecture, and process re-engineering
- Six Sigma and PMP certification a plus
