The Skype division is hiring a Principal Lead Program Manager to help define and deliver the next generation platform that will power billions of conversations world-wide.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow and mentor a team of program managers that will act as product owners for the datacenter platform
- Define the product direction for this platform in conjunction with your development, test, and service engineering peers
- Evaluate emerging technology trends inside and outside of Microsoft for the datacenter
- Build strong relationships with key internal partners such as SQL, Azure, and System Center
- Drive KPIs for service excellence in areas such as deployment velocity and time-to-value
- Present a compelling vision to executive management that is backed by data with a meaningful execution plan (backlog)
- Evangelize and refine agile processes such as scrum to continuously improve the quality and business value delivered by your team
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have previous experience both as a PM lead and in large scale online services. In addition to this, the candidate should have:
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, telecommunications, or business
- 5+ years experience in program management having delivered multiple product releases
- Working knowledge of one or more agile development methodologies
- Background in Microsoft management technologies such as PowerShell, Active Directory, and MSIs or their open source equivalents
- Ability to work with teams across multiple geographies
