Pour cela, il a sollicité et obtenu le concours de plusieurs bailleurs de fonds institutionnels dont l’Union Européenne, la Coopération Suisse au développement Dans ce cadre, l’UNOPS sera amené à exécuter un Projet de prévention et gestion des risques naturels en République Démocratique du Congo et spécialement des risques volcaniques en province du Nord-Kivu. L’UNOPS travaille essentiellement pour la prévention et gestion des risques naturels en général et des risques volcaniques en particulier dans le cadre de la surveillance de deux volcans actifs des Virunga. A cet effet, l’UNOPS recherche des candidats pour le poste de Spécialiste en Rédaction Scientifique qui formera le personnel scientifique de l’Observatoire Volcanologique de Goma en cette matière.Dans le cadre de son initiative de promotion de l'excellence organisationnelle, l'UNOPS recherche activement des individus qualifiés pour le poste de «Spécialiste en Programmation et Transfert des données». Functional ResponsibilitiesSous la supervision du chef de projet, le spécialiste en volcanologie aura pour tâches principales:

• Participer à une mission qui consiste à escalader le volcan Nyiragongo et à travailler à l’intérieur de son cratère :- effectuer des échantillonnages des roches, cendres et scories en provenance du lac de lave ; - effectuer des échantillonnages de la lave déjà présente sur la plateforme, émise depuis Juin 2011 ; - effectuer des échantillonnages multi-journaliers sur la totalité des cendres émises par le volcan.
• Former les chercheurs de l’OVG - théoriquement dans les différentes techniques utilisées sur un volcan ; - sur le terrain, lors de la mission dans le cratère, sur les échantillonnages effectués et les différentes techniques utilisées en volcanologie ; - Sur l’analyse et l’interprétation des résultats ; Travailler sur les données des dernières années et formuler un modèle de fonctionnement du lac de lave et donc du volcan depuis 2002.
  
  Education/Experience/Language requirements
  
  Education : Master en Géologie ou en Géophysique Experience : Avoir 3 ans d’expérience dans le domaine de la géologie et volcanologie Language : -Avoir une excellente maitrise de la langue française; -Avoir une bonne connaissance de l’anglais écrit et parlé
