Description

The job’s primary focus is to provide end-user support to Skype Engineering community in using Engineering Services including build tools, agile management and workflow and test tools.

The Engineering Services Technical Support key responsibilities:

•Manages support requests queue - prioritize, delegate and resolve requests
•Works closely together with Engineering Program Managers to enhance services provided to Skype Engineering community
•Enhances support processes for Engineering Services including Build Tools
•Manages support and system maintenance related communication for Engineering Community
•Participates actively in Engineering Services development projects and provides feedback to tools development teams about system enhancement in the scope of system administrating (like improving performance, security, scalability etc)
•The scope of the supporting tools is following (but not limited to):
- Build Tools (QuickBuild, Nexus, Code Repositories, Coverity etc)
- Delivery supporting and agile tools (Jira, Greenhopper, Localization tools)
- Testing systems

Knowledge and experience

•Previous work experience in similar position min 2 years
•Experiences in Front-end (or similar) Application administration
•Experience with tools like Jira, Fisheye, Quickbuild, Nexus, SVN, Git is a plus
•Knowledge about existing / new technologies and innovations
•An understanding of IT systems set up in comparable organizations
•Should be extremely security conscious
•Good teamwork skills
•Very good communication skills
•Intermediate level English (including writing) is essential skill to have

Essential qualifications

•Undergraduate degree in an IT / IT related subject

•The job has no formal people management or supervisory responsibility but may support colleagues in the ELS and Engineering team.

•The job holder is aware of costs associated with their own work and works to manage costs appropriately.
•Working relationships
•In this role the job holder is expected to work closely with Skype Engineering product delivery teams, Engineering Tools owners, System administrators and Info Security team
