Description

Are you interested in understanding the threat landscape of complex security breaches? Do you have the drive to understand the actions of organized attackers? Do you have the passion to work intrusions and stop attackers? Are you able to lead a strong team of specialists with varied skill sets to achieve a common goal? Microsoft’s Network Security Advanced Analytics (NSAA) team is looking for a Senior Security Manager to lead a team of high-performing log, network, reverse engineers, and host analysts.

You and your team will be responsible for detecting attacks from Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups and actors, as well as gathering information about Microsoft’s high-value assets, threat landscape, and breach exposure. You will have to analyze this information for trends, patterns, and general situational awareness; and equally importantly, you’ll be responsible for helping to disseminate this information - ensuring that appropriate decision makers are well informed. You’ll be required to consider a broad field of emerging solutions to enable this situational understanding, and determine which are the most viable. In addition, you’ll have to provide program management to shepherd these solutions into implementation.

Success will entail working closely with other teams both within Network Security and across Microsoft, as well as external partners. Experience with security events, including large-scale breaches, is a must, as is the ability to identify themes and trends out of event sets.

Qualifications include:
• Extensive experience in network security
• In-depth understanding of sophisticated threats
• Highly developed analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
• Successful management experience leading technical staff
• Demonstrated mastery of complex program management
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong written & verbal communications skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Successful completion of background and credit checks is required for this position.
Applicants must be US citizens, able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
