The Privacy Advisory Team within the Trustworthy Computing Privacy and Safety group is looking for a Sr. Strategist to work with key business groups across Microsoft to help drive new privacy features, practices and standards. As a Sr. Strategist, you’re responsible for partnering with privacy leaders and teams across the company to help protect our customers worldwide.

The Advisory team is responsible for advising business groups and identifying and addressing emerging privacy and safety issues created by the development of new products and services. We are highly collaborative, entrepreneurial and deeply focused on delivering timely guidance to the various business groups with whom we work. We work closely with our partners in LCA and the privacy teams within the different business groups. Members of the team are subject matter experts on specific topic areas and are uniquely positioned to dive deep on cutting edge issues, while also developing company-wide standards and strategic guidance on areas of emerging privacy/safety risk that may impact multiple teams and business groups. The position will be based in Redmond, WA

The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills and a deep subject matter expertise in online privacy and security. The candidate is an excellent team player who has the ability to understand and evangelize solutions to complex privacy matters that span multiple products and services. The candidate brings sound business judgment, an ability to think strategically, and a desire to establish a "trusted advisor" relationship with key partners across the company.

Responsibilities will include:
• Serving as the trusted privacy advisor to Privacy Managers and others in key business groups.
• Collaborating with teams to identify and drive opportunities for the use of new technical solutions to privacy matters.
• Identifying, assessing and working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the company to develop technical and policy recommendations for mitigating and managing potential privacy risks in the development of our products and services. 

Qualifications: 
• 3+ years of industry experience in privacy, security or equivalent role is strongly desired
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent engineering experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills, proven cross-group collaboration skills and a strong interest in privacy leadership. 
• High enthusiasm, ingenuity, results-orientation, determination and resourcefulness.
• CISSP and CIPP certifications are a plus.
