Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to the Head and lawyers in the legal division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform legal and factual research
- Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material
- Organize, cross check, analyze and validate information
- Prepare written reports and correspondence
- Draft legal documents including briefs, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda
- Review standard legal documents (with the supervision of a lawyer)
- Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
- Maintain databases and files
- Organize and track project files
- Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
- Maintain the law library
- Help with trial preparation (preparing trial binders to be shared with the external legal counsel)
- Assist with ICD board secretarial matters by preparing board and executive committee resolutions and attending board meetings in ICD investee companies to take minutes
Experience:
- 1-2 years' experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or in house legal department
- Previous experience in the area of banking and finance
- Previous experience in Islamic banking and finance would be an advantage
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in law from a recognized university
