Job: Paralegal (ICD)

Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to the Head and lawyers in the legal division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform legal and factual research
  • Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material
  • Organize, cross check, analyze and validate information
  • Prepare written reports and correspondence
  • Draft legal documents including briefs, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda
  • Review standard legal documents (with the supervision of a lawyer)
  • Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
  • Maintain databases and files
  • Organize and track project files
  • Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
  • Maintain the law library
  • Help with trial preparation (preparing trial binders to be shared with the external legal counsel)
  • Assist with ICD board secretarial matters by preparing board and executive committee resolutions and attending board meetings in ICD investee companies to take minutes
Experience:
  • 1-2 years' experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or in house legal department
  • Previous experience in the area of banking and finance
  • Previous experience in Islamic banking and finance would be an advantage
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in law from a recognized university
