Background Information - Job-specific
In December 2012, UNOPS was selected by the Cambodia Country Coordinating Mechanism for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS,Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) to become the Principal Recipient(PR) for the Single Stream of Funding (SSF) Malaria grant for Cambodia. The management responsibility for this grant will be handed over to UNOPS on April 1st 2013.
As the designated Principal Recipient for the Global Fund SSF Malaria grant, UNOPS is responsible for the quality financial management, timely procurement of supplies and service delivery as well as efficient monitoring and evaluation of grant implementation activities. From early 2013 UNOPS will have to complete all the groundwork to start-up the Principal Recipient operations so that there is minimal lag between grant signature and full commencement of operations.
Functional Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer and in accordance with UNOPS policies, procedures and practices, the Logistics Associate shall be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Assist the Logistics team in managing the Logistic component of Supply Chain ;
- Prepare delivery notes and any otherdocuments needed for certification purpose;
- Liaise with the SRs logistics teams to inform on the shipping dates and arrival;
- Liaise and coordinate with Transport Companies and Freight forwards;
- Maintain inventory of logistics and related documents and files;
- Draft letters for dispatch to SRs related to Logistics, Supply Chain Management;
- Organize/coordinate trainings for the logistics unit;
- Assist the logistics & procurement unitwith regards to operational tasks such as inventory security, delivery &receipt of goods, materials etc;
- Responsible for record keeping and disbursement of office stationery and other office supplies upon receipt of requisitions, approved by the competent authority;
- Check and ensure stores and equipment are being well maintained and that the supplies are stored safely, securely and properly;
- Arrange transportation of equipment/materials to the designated location, including loading and uploading and ensure issuance of proper documentation, i.e. delivery notes etc.;
- Perform other related duties as may beassigned by the supervisor.

The personnel is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.
Competencies- Basic knowledge of international pharmaceutical Logistics and supply systems.
- Some Knowledge of Good storage and Distribution Practices established by the World Health Organization.
- Logistics/Inventory background.
- Knowledge of UN rules and regulations, particularly UNOPS procurement procedures a great advantage.
Bachelor degree in pharmacy or science field and professional training in business/ Commerce, economics, international relations, Purchasing &Supplies or related fields is required. Applicants with secondary education may be accepted with additional years of relevant experience.
Experience
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in pharmacy or science field and professional training in business/ Commerce, economics, international relations, Purchasing & Supplies or related fields. For applicants with bachelor's degree, additional 3 years of experience is required.
Languages
Good in English and fluency in Khmer.
Contract type, level and duration
