Microsoft is looking for a Global Reverse Logistics Director to join our Logistics team. This position will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of our comprehensive end-to-end Supply Chain Strategy. Microsoft is looking for that individual that has proven expertise and depth in the global transportation industry with experience across both the operational and business aspects required for our logistics organization. The right individual will have experience in domestic and international tax, trade, freight payment, financials and import/export management. Responsibilities:
Network Development: You will be responsible to manage, design and launch a network to serve all of our products from and to all different channels.
This individual will be responsible for all reverse logistics activities pertaining to retailer, enterprise, consumer and distribution partners globally. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the reverse logistics department and works with channel, sales and finance leadership to ensure coordination of reverse logistics support. Additionally, this position works closely with both SCVs and credit & collections to ensure we are crediting partners as our reverse logistics policies dictate. The position will be responsible for designing and advancing the current reverse logistics programs, increasing service to our customers, decreasing costs and process improvement.
The individual is also responsible for creating appropriate KPI’s, reports and processes for reverse logistics performance and for designing and implementing improved processes and operational policies.
Operations Management: In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining end to end solutions for the reverse supply chain. You will need to partner with key stakeholders to manage the relationship with our product groups, support organization and MS Stores team. Maintenance of both supply chain solutions will require careful tracking and reporting product returns, inventory, logistical, pricing and variances as well as escalation management with both business partners and customers.
Analysis and Planning: Develop and report performance metrics, root cause analysis, executive update, policy compliance and analysis to identify potential opportunities. Develop analytics for input into consumer loyalty improvement, product lifecycle planning and policy setting.
Process Management: Responsible for performance, process definition, statement of work, measurement, process improvement, tactical priority setting, and compliance assessment and management meetings.
Systems Architecture: Drive development of overall systems changes - Entitlement Rules - to ensure seamless end-to-end visibility and process integration globally and policy adherence.
Strategic Contributor: Lead or participate in strategy sessions, analyze solutions and proposed process definition, project management, industry benchmarking, capability assessment, stay abreast of technology advancements within the industry and latest new and emerging markets.
Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a functional expert in all aspects of secondary markets and enterprise supply chains including, process, policy, systems architecture, customer service, collections and logistics. Collaboratively influence changes to the overall supply chain.
Operations Management: Experience with managing vendors, building Statement of work and process management. Drive operations readiness across manufacturing and supply chain functions - drive key business / operations processes, milestone management and issue management for product launches
Cost Management: Understand the cost of executing products in this supply chain, pro-active reporting and drive for continuous cost reduction opportunities
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of manufacturing / supply chain operations experience or related experience and strong knowledge of retail and enterprise reverse logistics
Fortune 500 and global experience preferred
- B. A. /B. S. in supply chain/operations management, business, or related field (or the equivalent in work experience)
- 6+ years within turnkey manufacturing or call center in cross group supply chain organizations including forecasting and planning, logistics, and transportation (required)
- 5+ years’ experience managing globally outsourced transportation logistics services
- 6+ years’ experience responsibility for budgeting, P&L's, and activity based costing
- Leadership with complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, execution, and presenting results (required)
Experience with MS Office Applications, including advanced knowledge of Excel, intermediate Access, SQL and PowerPoint
Ability to write, speak and present effectively and persuasively at all levels
Strong critical thinking and resolution in sometimes ambiguous situations
Proven ability to define, drive and implement strategy
Self-driven initiative to gain and share a broader knowledge of supply chain
Proven capability of handling complex program management
Hands on working experience with logistics management systems (TMS, WMS, etc..)
First-hand knowledge and working experience of domestic and international logistics management of tax, trade, and import/export
