In December 2012, UNOPS was selected by the Cambodia Country Coordinating Mechanism for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund) to become the Principal Recipient (PR) for the Single Stream of Funding (SSF) Malaria grant for Cambodia. The management responsibility for this grant was handed over to UNOPS on April 1st 2013.
As the designated Principal Recipient for the Global Fund SSF Malaria grant, UNOPS is responsible for the quality financial management, timely procurement of supplies and service delivery as well as efficient monitoring and evaluation of grant implementation activities. From early 2013 UNOPS will have to complete all the groundwork to start-up the Principal Recipient operations so that there is minimal lag between grant signature and full commencement of operations.
Functional Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Administrative Officer and direct supervision of the Administrative/Procurement Office, the Driver shall be responsible for performing the following duties:
  • Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel to and from work location as may be required.
  • Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items;
  • Meet official personnel at the airport and transport them to designated location.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.,
  • Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes greasing, etc.;
  • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
  • Abide by the country's traffic rules
  • Abide by UN rules and ethics concerning safe driving and security procedures
  • Perform other duties as required.
Monitoring and Progress Controls
  • Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition
  • Maintain travel log sheet as per UNOPS Rules.
  • Abide by the UNOPS, UNDSS rules and regulations in traveling especially in Outstation Area.
  • Adhere to the Speed limits etc. as stipulated by the Cambodia Traffic authority
Final Product
  • Driver is required to fully adhere to the rules and regulations of UNOPS, UNDSS and other statutory regulation in executing their day to day activates.
  • Driver is required to maintain all the record books / log books and keep their vehicles in a good condition.
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.
Competencies
  • Possess certificate of good conduct or recommendation from a recognized authority.
  • Have under gone a basic vehicle maintenance and repair course

  • Driving and Vehicle Maintenance
Education/Experience/Language requirementsSecondary Education required
Valid Driver's License required
Minimum of 2 years regular driving experience in 4-Wheel Drive/ Trucks/Heavy Vehicles required
Excellent Khmer and good level of English required
