Job: National Programme Officer

Location: Yangon

Qualification
Education:
University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: economics, agriculture, internationalaffairs, business administration, social sciences, development studies or a field relevant tointernational development assistance.
Experience:
  • At least three years of postgraduate professional experience in commerce, businessadministration, development or food assistance support.
  • In addition, at least two years of field andpractical experience, preferably in emergency settings/distributions.
Knowledge:
  • Training and/or experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and otherstandard WFP software packages and systems.
  • General knowledge of UN system, policies, rules,regulations and procedures governing administration.
Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar.
Critical Success Factors:
  • Good analytical skills;
  • resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment, tact, negotiating skills;
  • ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing;
  • ability to work in team, and establisheffective working relations with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability tocope with situations which may threaten health or safety;
  • flexibility in accepting work assignmentsoutside normal desk description.
  • Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of differentnational and cultural backgrounds.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of relevant WFP specified software.
