OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The Zambian government through the Ministry of Health is conducting a National TB Prevalence survey to determine the burden of the TB disease in the country. WHO will provide technical and driving support services towards the Survey.
Description of duties:
- Under the supervision of Operations Officer and the general supervision of WHO Representative. The incumbent will be required to perform the following duties:
- Drives official vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
- Responsible for the day-to day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for the repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
- Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil change, greasing etc.;
- Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education:
Completion of secondary school education and basic knowledge of computer applications.
Skills:
Driver's licence, knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in basic vehicle repairs.
Experience:
At least two years work experience as a driver; a safe driving record.
UN experience will be an added advantage
Languages:
Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of local language(s) is an added advantage
