Purpose of the Position
The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.
This position will contribute to providing ICT services for the 'support of United Nations peacekeeping and related operations', as referred to in the letter of 28 February 2013 from the UN Department of Field Support (DFS) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MFA) of Spain concerning the deployment of ICC personnel and equipment to the UN Support Base in Valencia, as well as in the corresponding reply letter of 8 July 2013 from the MFA to DFS.

Summary of Assigned Duties
The incumbent of this position will perform their duties from ICC premises located within the UN Support Base in Valencia. ICC premises include data centre facilities and office space provided to the ICC by the UN Department of Field Support (DFS) as stated in the MOU concluded between the UN, represented by DFS, and the ICC in July 2012.
Duties include:
  • Administrator:- Design, implement, administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 and IBM Domino based messaging infrastructure of ICC's partners;- Implement, manage and maintain standard configurations of monitoring and analysis tools, as well as assist with resolution of problems related to ICC or ICC partners' data centers as part of the incident management process.
  • Deployment Team Member:- Design, conduct final testing and deploy email solutions and related systems, as well as draft all related technical documentation as part of release management process.
  • Technical Support- Address and resolve application related issues ensuring proper logging and tracking of resolution following appropriate incident management procedures;- Address and resolve Request for Services ensuring proper logging and tracking of resolution following the appropriate Request Fulfilment procedures.
  • Work in shifts as part of ICC's extended service coverage scheme, and provide stand-by services, if and when required.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Essential:
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM)
  • Good knowledge of MS Active Directory services
  • Good knowledge of Windows, Linux Operating Systems (MS Windows 2003/2008/2012, SLES and RHEL)
  • Good knowledge of IBM Domino
  • Good knowledge of MS PowerShell or similar scripting tool
  • Understanding of Network concepts as well application and web hosting
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL service management methodology
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team
  • Good communication and presentation skills
Desirable:
  • Basic knowledge of customer support, functional escalation and use of various incident and request tracking software
Education
Essential:
  • Graduation from secondary school supplemented by specialized training in IT, preferably with diploma
  • Microsoft certification in Exchange 2010 or later
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certificate
Desirable:
  • Microsoft certification in MS Forefront Identity Manager
  • Microsoft certification in MS Active Directory
Experience
Essential:
  • At least five (5) years of experience in information technology or related area, including at least three years (3) in operating and maintaining enterprise messaging infrastructure.
  • Experience in drafting technical documents.
Desirable:
  • Experience in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001) and other related best practices and industry standards.
Languages
  • Expert knowledge of English is required (both written and verbal).
  • English language certification is required for non-native speakers.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
