The Financial Affairs Division of the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs (DAF/FIN) is looking for a dynamic Senior Private Pensions Expert with leadership qualities to advance the work of the Insurance and Private Pensions Committee (IPPC) and its Working Party on Private Pensions (WPPP). S/he will report to the Head of the Financial Affairs Division of the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs and will work in close co-ordination with the Head of the Private Pensions Unit.
The IPPC and its Working Party establish international standards and good practices in private pension regulation and provide a leading source of analysis and monitoring of private pension systems for OECD member countries. They also co-operate closely with key non-member economies and assist policy-making through expert meetings and international conferences. Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the work on pension regulation as well as G20/OECD related work on institutional investors and long-term investment financing.
  • Support the work of the OECD Working Party on Private Pensions (WPPP), working in close collaboration with the Head of the Private Pension Unit.
  • Prepare in-depth analytical reports on cutting-edge issues related to private pensions and institutional investors for intergovernmental discussion.
  • Present OECD work at meetings, and to expert and laymen audiences.
  • Liaise with other OECD directorates on issues of common interest and prepare briefings and background notes for DAF Directors and the Office of the Secretary-General.
  • Liaise with other international organisations and relevant stakeholders to ensure synergies with OECD projects and advance international work on private pensions, pension regulation and long-term investment.
  • Contribute as requested, to other areas of the Division's work and carry out other duties as required.
Ideal candidate profile
Academic Background
  • An advanced university degree in finance and/or economics, or equivalent qualification in pensions and/or the insurance field.
  • Professional Background
  • At least 8 years' experience in finance, pensions and/or insurance regulation, research or practice, or related fields (e.g. asset management, long-term investment financing).
  • Experience in a pension or insurance regulatory or supervisory body (or other relevant government policymaking authority) or in an international organisation would be an advantage.
Languages
  • An excellent written and oral command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other.
  • Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
