Job purpose
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Section, performs a variety of information gathering, monitoring, technical and administrative services of moderate scope and difficulty, in support of programme activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist programme section in financial implementation reports by summarizing information reflecting current obligations, requisitions, expenditure and future programme and/or budgetary implications
  • Collects data and other information on development in WASH, Health/Nutrition, Child Protection and Education sectors in the area of operation of the Office.
  • Contributes to the preparation of reports, project documents and submissions to governments by providing information, preparing tables and drafting relatively routine sections. Prepares background information for use in discussions with governments and other organizations. Participates in the briefing and debriefing of project personnel.
  • Scrutinizes plans of operations, exchanges of letters and takes appropriate follow-up action. Assists in the administrative process of government requests for assistance.
  • Maintains, logs, files and updates records in prescribed format for subsequent use. Keeps current registers and control plans on the status of projects at the formulation, implementation and operational stages
  • Assists in tracking and processing liquidation of cash assistance and supply assistance to governments and other partners.
  • Drafts responses to routine programme correspondence and provide administrative support to the section. May be required to carry out specific administrative operational/control tasks for project/programme activities.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in Programme Management and Budget Control.
Work Experience
Five years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative work, of which at least one year is closely related to support of programme activities.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in Kurdish and English required. Another UN language is an asset
