Role overview

To provide support and participate in the project preparation, appraisal and monitoring process under supervision. The Associate Banker can progress to more complex aspects of transaction processing, progressively gaining more responsibilities including directly liaising with clients and contribute to the structuring of transactions.

Responsibilities and deliverables

With supervision from senior team members, the Associate Banker will be capable of working throughout the whole life cycle of projects.
This will be accomplished through marketing, project screening, origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation and monitoring of projects. This will also include:
  • Credit and financial aspects of project development, including financial analysis of projects, production of financial projections and cash-flow models
  • Research, analysis and providing background information into companies or sectors
  • Drafting Bank documents and correspondence
  • Providing administrative and analytical support in specific areas of project monitoring.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

  • Good relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education (eg business administration, economics, finance)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant and commercial work experience (e.g. banking, finance, accounting, audit or project finance), gained from a major commercial/investment bank, equity fund, advisory services or corporate finance firm.
  • Credit analysis skills: ability to interpret accounts, understanding international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis
  • Financial analysis skills: ability to design financial models; identify, understand and help solve complex issues
  • Sound understanding of business principles
  • Computer literacy, excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English and for RO positions add – fluency in local language.
  • Fluency in one or more languages of our countries of operation and/or a major international language and / or work experience in emerging markets, including Central / Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, Balkans, Central Asia or Mongolia is an advantage.
