The job of an Analyst is to contribute to project preparation, appraisal, implementation and monitoring, especially involving the financial aspects, of transactions with the Bank's clients in the financial sector under direct supervision from an Operation Leader and/ or more experienced banker. Projects include debt and equity transactions with either international or local clients in the Western Balkans, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. BackgroundThe Project life-cycle entails different stages from origination to signing, and thereafter implementation and monitoring until full completion and repayment. All the stages involve different tasks such as business marketing, project and financial analysis, structuring and approval, negotiation and signing of project agreements, disbursement, and monitoring. Under the guidance of a more senior banker assigned as the Operation Leader, the Project Team is required to prepare project documentation while liaising in parallel with the Client and other internal units of the Bank, such as Credit Department, Office of the General Counsel, Office of the Chief Economist, Environmental Department, etc. The role of the Analyst is to provide support to the Operation Leader as a member of a project team through the different stages of a project, with primary focus on credit analysis and financial modelling. Accountabilities & Responsibilities The Analyst's responsibilities require assisting more senior bankers / operation leaders in the context of a project team with the following; 
· To research the background, market, financial performance and risks related to a potential loan or equity investment for the assigned banker to properly assess each project. This includes building accurate financial models for testing debt service capacity or equity investment valuation and return under different scenarios. 
· To monitor portfolio investments with respect to project implementation, financial performance, evolving risk factors, and compliance with the Project Agreement(s) and Bank's policies and to prepare timely and comprehensive monitoring reports including recommended corrective actions for the relevant Banker to avoid impairments. 
· To draft internal documents for approval of new projects and monitoring or amendment of existing projects for the relevant Banker as part of documents tendered in respect of new or existing business to assist in progressing the project 
· To deliver accurate work to agreed timescales and standards Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications The knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications expected from an Analyst include the following; 
· Relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education, preferably a Master's degree in finance / economics and / or other professional qualifications such as CFA or MBA. 
· Relevant experience from inter alia an investment/commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards. 
· Analytical skills: strong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models. 
· Credit analysis skills: ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles, and practice of credit analysis. 
· Market research skills: capacity to research, obtain and assess for credibility relevant market information. 
· Computer literacy: conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules. 
· Fluent Written and oral communication skills in English and knowledge of one of the languages from the EBRD's countries of operation. Note: This job description is not limited to the responsibilities listed and the incumbent may be requested to perform other relevant duties as required by business needs.
