Job: Senior Human Resources Assistant for Experimental Stations

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Sr. HR Assistant for Experimental Stations in the Corporate Services Program – Human Resources. The selected candidate will be responsible to provide administrative support to the HR Department in the area of coordination of Experimental Stations in Mexico.

The position will be based at CIMMYT's headquarters located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, but will interact with all our experimental stations in Mexico on a regular basis.
Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Coordinate NRS Administration services and problem solving of all experimental stations in Mexico.
  • Maintain close contact with the experimental stations in order to ensure compliance with policies and procedures of Human Resources, and appropriate care and support to personnel required, seeking an immediate solution to their concerns and requirements.
  • Provide general administrative, logistic and organizational support to the HR Area, including but not limited to: management of correspondence, preparation of meetings (and minute taking), preparation of documentation and reports related to the area and other activities as required.
  • Provide monitoring and support in all routine matters related to experimental stations in Mexico.
  • Provide on-site support of logistics for HR activities.
  • Other support tasks as required, including filing, phone calls, teleconferences, arrangement of payments, preparation of reports, maintain personnel files and employee databases as required, etc.
  • Perform other activities as assigned by supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Industrial Relations or similar area, with specialization in Human Resources.
  • Work experience of 3 years in similar positions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Mexican Federal Labor Law, Mexican Social Security Laws and Mexican Tax Law and bylaws.
  • Excellent bilingual skills (English/Spanish), including presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR-related systems.
  • Selected candidates must be analytical, innovative, proactive, and well articulate.
  • Strong level of leadership and sensitivity to interact effectively with all employees and recognize their needs.
  • High sense of responsibility and discretion.
  • Ability to work as a team and under pressure in a multidisciplinary and multinational work environment.
  • Extensive travel availability is required.
