Contract Duration: For initial appointments, the Court offers a two-year appointment with the possibility of extension (six monthprobationary period).
A roster of suitable candidates may be established for this post as a result of this selection process for bothfixed-term established and general temporary assistance posts.Entry on duty date is to be determined.
Duties & Responsibilities
The International Criminal Court is an eCourt that utilizes electronic systems for all its legal processes includinginvestigations, hearings, analysis and disclosure. The Information and Communications Technologies Sectionprovides technical support for these solutions within an environment highly focused on information security,information integrity and availability.
The Information Services Unit The Information Services Unit is a central service provider for information systemsdevelopment, maintenance and application support within the ICC.Under the Supervision of the Associate Information Systems Officer the Senior Application Integration Assistantwill be in charge of defining interoperability between different systems and programming languages and providingthe basis for integration between applications.In performing the duties of this position, the Senior Application Integration Assistant will interact with applicationsupport teams (Records Management and Archives, eCourt, SAP, Judicial Systems Support), Network andSystem Administrators and with IT and Information Security specialists.The Senior Application Integration Assistant will be responsible for the following:- Design and develop high quality integration applications using the Court's application integration middlewareand industry standards.- Work with the Court's community to develop and clarify data exchange requirements- Act as focal point for application integration matters with court-wide business users- Gather requirements for organizational business workflows modelling- Perform application testing, installations and deployment- Provide application support and perform software maintenance duties.- Establish policies for information exchange in the organization combining software and computer systemsarchitectural principles.- Document configuration of informal and formal specifications for integration solutions.- Develop Standard Operating Procedures on his area of responsibilities and provides input for the overallgovernance and compliance of the Court IT systems- Develop standard modules in leveraging re-use of software components- Maintain existing systems to guarantee service levels as established in the Section objectives.- Perform other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications Education
Completion of secondary school. BSc or BA degree in computer science or related field would be an asset.
Experience- At least 10 years of relevant work experience. A university degree may be substituted for 2 years of overallwork experience.- Service Oriented Architecture expertise and proven experience of delivery of functionality as a service.- Practical experience with enterprise applications.- Hands-on experience with an integration middleware required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of EAI, SOA and Web Services technologies and concepts essential.
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI) is a strong asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft platforms and technologies, especially Active Directory, IIS, SharePoint.
  • Experience in software development and systems administration using Microsoft technologies would be anasset- Strong knowledge of messaging, XML, SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Java/J2EE, UML, and data transformationexperience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others on processes and standards without always relying on the line-of-command.

Languages
  • Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential.
  • Working knowledge ofthe other is desirable.
  • Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian andSpanish) would be considered an asset.
