Organizational Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) and under the supervision and direction of a senior analyst. The OTP is seeking research and analysis interns who are available to begin service in January 2014. Selections will be made on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities
Internships in research and analysis are offered in two categories: contextual and military. Please state your preference in your cover letter.
Interns assigned to perform contextual research and analysis review various facets of the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, including historical background, political structures, demographic changes and use of media.
Interns assigned to perform military research and analysis examine the military dimension of events, personalities, organisations and crimes under review by the Office. An intern participates in the research and assembling of information, evaluating its worth and integrating it into the evidential development of the broader case.

Education
Applicants must have a university degree or be in the final stages of their undergraduate studies in a relevant field (e.g. political science, military history, media studies or other analysis based program).
Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme, and must be at least 18 years old. Previous military experience is an asset for those seeking an internship with the military research and analysis group.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the Tribunal. Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of other languages, particularly Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, is an asset.
Assessment Method
