Background Information - Job-specific
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Ethics Officer on ethics matters, and the Senior Internal Auditor of the Internal Audit and Investigations Group on administrative matters, the Ethics Assistant - Intern provides support to Ethics Office on policy research, office operations and case management, performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Ethics Assistant - Intern shall ensure effective research and logistical support to the Ethics Office, focusing on achievement of the responsibilities as mentioned below.
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.

Functional Responsibilities
Conduct research into ethics issues as requested by the Ethics Officer, and on occasions prepare ethics presentations based on that research.
Systematically organize and maintain confidential records, documents,, correspondences etc relating to cases referred to the Ethics Office.
Review of ethics reports with respect to editorial requirements, prior to issue, for providing quality assurance.
Review of substantive cases, when requested by the Ethics Officer.
Analysis and preparation of statistics and other information for various ethics related reports, presentations etc.
Provide support to the Ethics Officer for ethics assignments as required such as data analysis, review of documents with respect to organizational rules such as for procurement, finance and other functional areas, conducting interviews, surveys etc. which may involve travel.
Provide assistance to develop ethics training materials & programmes; provide assistance to develop outreach materials & ensure engagement & outreach by the Office to the whole organization; facilitate ethics training & outreach workshops; assist in managing the implementation of ethics e-learning;
Any other tasks as entrusted.

Education/Experience/Language requirementsEducation: To be eligible for an internship with UNOPS, you must be studying for a university degree such a Bachelor, Masters or PH.D. (or equivalent), or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of the internship, in a relevant field such as ethics or law, public administration, business administration. Language: Excellent command of English and Spanish (oral and written). Ability to work in French an advantage. Interns at UNOPS do not receive any remuneration. As such, interns are responsible for all costs associated with the internship, including but not limited to costs for insurance coverage, travel and accommodation. However interns may be eligible for a small stipend from UNOPS provided that they do not receive funds from other institutions.
