Description
Become a key member of the Visual Studio Cloud Services (VSCS) test leadership team and help build the next generation of development tools in the cloud! Microsoft has unique capabilities for development teams spanning platforms, tools, MSDN subscriptions and community assets. To create the best cloud-based development experience we are currently building on a vision that we call “VS Online” that combines and evolves subscription-based Visual Studio offerings with an array of cloud-based services, including Team Foundation Service, Developer Analytics, Build and Load testing and deep integration with Azure.
The Visual Studio Shared Cloud Services team is at the center of building out this vision. We are responsible for the foundational concepts that enable us to create a connection and relationship with individuals and organizations, our core service insights (both operational and at a business level), and our commerce & subscription efforts spanning our client, server and service assets.
As the test lead of the Developer Identity team, you are responsible for the set of related back end and middle tier services throughout Developer Division e.g. Team Foundation Service, Napa, MSDN, Cloud Load testing, Developer Analytics. You will work with partners across the company, including Azure, Windows, and Visual Studio, to create connections across the breadth of our cloud services and play a key driver role in defining our strategy and bringing the vision to reality to redefine the developer tools experience.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry software development and testing experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with the following technologies: C#, ASP.NET, Ajax
- Minimum 5 years of testing web applications, middle tier and web services.
- Proven ability with test strategy and planning
- Demonstrated success towards building a strong scenario driven, automated test strategy, along with a drive for excellence
- Solid test engineering experience, good teamwork, planning, and organization skills, as well as excellent cross-group/project communication and collaboration skills
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in software development with C# or C++
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Solid Technical & Communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, a self-starter and an excellent problem-solver
- Experience with or knowledge of Azure and transitioning services to the cloud
- Ability to understand and work in complex, heterogeneous systems is highly desired
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize workloads
- Familiarity with engineering methodologies like Agile and Scrum is a plus
- Stress/Performance test experience is a strong plus.
