We are looking for a senior leader to spearhead the efforts of the Services Information Protection & Governance Team (IPG). The successful candidate for this role will bring a passion for excellence, client service, and efficient outcomes, and will champion our information governance efforts to drive customer trust, confidence and loyalty through world class data protection strategies.

The IPG charter includes looking after privacy, security, governance, risk and compliance across the Services organization. In FY14, IPG will accomplish this through the following four core strategies: delivering expert solutions, engaging the community, driving transparency with our customers, and providing governance solutions at scale.
This is a leadership role that will involve:
Managing people and budget
Influencing across the division through deep coordination and collaboration with other shared services functions, lines of business, product groups, and corporate functions.
Handling data protection incidents effectively, including timely regulatory response.
Managing field escalations where non-standard data protection contractual terms are requested.
Continuing to evolve and maintain a simple and scalable compliance control framework.
Working across Services engineering, operations, service delivery, marketing, strategy, communications, and beyond to track and report on current and future compliance issues & needs ensuring cross-Services & company alignment.
Interfacing with TWC to care for the Microsoft brand.
Collaborating with LCA and Regulatory Affairs to interpret and be prepared for changes in regulatory environment
Continuously monitoring the status and effectiveness of compliance solutions across Services.
Managing pre-audit and audit activity, as well as certifications.
Performing annual risk assessment activity for purposes of program evolution, meeting audit requirements, and Board of Director reporting.
Identifying continuous improvement objectives.
Keeping leadership informed of risks across the business through scorecard reporting.
Stewarding the health of the data protection champ and lead communities though training, awareness campaigns, and other targeted strategies.
Showcasing Microsoft as a leader in the industry.
Partnering with MSIT and internal engineering teams to apply safeguards within systems which house corporate data.
The successful candidate will be excited by the prospect of continually enhancing Services information governance processes and controls to provide best-in-class protection for our customers’ data and participating in the ongoing evolution of Worldwide Services to become a trusted partner to our customers and partners through effective controls, guidance, and working relationships.
Required Skills/Experience:
At least 10 years’ program management, service management or management consulting experience in corporate and/or software development environments.
Ability to drive consensus, influence leadership, and manage expectations with senior stakeholders.
Proven track record delivering cross organization results in a highly matrix model, building camaraderie, managing highly effective virtual teams, and sustaining strong partnerships within and outside the organization.
Strong communication skills; can tailor content and concepts based on audience (internal stakeholders and with external customers).
Ability to translate taxonomy and apply relevant details to maximize understanding.
Ability to self-regulate through conflict management and negotiations to promote an inclusive environment and achieve the best results for all involved.
A minimum of 5 years in people management, at least three years at Microsoft.
Have knowledge of IT processes and frameworks (e.g., SDLC, ITIL, COBIT).
Experience managing annual budget.
Proficiencies should include an advanced mix of skills engaging with Engineering, Product Marketing, LCA, TWC, MSIT, EPG, SMSG, GFS and external bodies such as standards bodies and governmental or regulatory bodies.
Two years hands-on experience in Information Systems Auditing, Information Security or Compliance role. Experience in auditing frameworks like ISO 27001, SAS70, HIPAA, FISMA and other regulatory, requirements is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, information security, Accounting, Finance or related field.
J.D., CISA and / or CISSP certification is a plus, as is Internal/External Audit or other technology controls related roles.
