Deutsche Welthungerhilfe (formerly known as German Agro Action/GAA) was founded in 1962. Today it is one of the biggest private development organisations in Germany. Non-profit- making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organisation works under the leadership of an honorary board and the patronage of the German President. Welthungerhilfe Myanmar is running projects in the fields of food security, agriculture, water & sanitation, rehabilitation of social infrastructure, and community development in Yangon, Ayeyawaddy and Magway Regions and in Shan State. Currently we are looking for a Programme Coordination Officer (Myanmar national Myanmar national Myanmar national Myanmar national) for Country Office in Yangon, with the following requirements:
I. Summary

II. General Responsibilities
Support the /Country Director and Head of Projects in planning and monitoring of the Welthungerhilfe programmes and projects and further develop the concept of Welthungerhilfe's intervention in the assignment region
III. Duties and area of responsibilitiy
- Identifying and assessing (pre-selecting) new project ideas on the basis of the country or regional programme as well as WHH concept papers and orientation frameworks,
- Preparing internal project documents on the base of project proposal documents and coordinate with Finance Dept. in preparing cost and financing plans,
- Participation in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of rural development projects supported by WHH,
- Design and maintain the monitoring and evaluation system of all Welthungerhilfe projects in Myanmar; in compliance with the Welthungerhilfe outcome and impact orientation guidelines
- Ensuring reporting occurs correctly and in due time (status and financial reports) to Head Office and the co-financers
- Observing, assessing and sharing relevant information about political, economic and social development in the country to the CD and Head Office,
- Involvement in the planning, implementation and development of country and regional programmes in agreement with the CD
- Involvement in the planning and implementation of PR activities (journalist visits, media, publications, etc.)
- Participating and representing Welthungerhilfe in coordination committees, networks and with other relevant organisations, e.g. Food Security Working Group
- Representing Welthungerhilfe vis-à-vis other national and international, governmental and non-governmental bodies as well as relief and development organisations,
- Identifying in-country co-financing options and negotiating with co-financers and preparing co-financing applications
IV. Job requirements
1. Knowledge/Qualification
1.1 Professional/formal qualificationUniversity degree in a relevant disciplines e.g. Social sciences, Management, Development Studies etc.
1.2. Job-related professional experience
- At least five years practical working experience with NGO/UN
- Stated experience in Food and Nutrition Security sector
- At least two years of professional Monitoring, evaluation experience especially on food security and its related activities. Able to identify challenges, difficulties of targeted groups.
- Desirable: At least three years of experience in project management, coordination or other relevant subject.
1.3 Foreign language skills
- Excellent in both oral and written English and Burmese (mother tongue speaker).
- Knowledge of other national languages spoken in Myanmar is an asset
1.4 Miscellaneous
- Very good writing, analytical, presentation and reporting skills
- Very good Facilitation skills and ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and internet
- Experience with statistic programs and data bases is an asset
- Experience in designing, planning and implementing information systems is an asset
